Rather, they are dealing with some of the downsides of remote work, including a loss of connectedness and alignment.<\/p>\n<h2>Here are a few strategies to engage teams in a meaningful way as you continue working remotely or transition back to the office:<\/h2>\n<h1>Foster Team and Individual Relationships<\/h1>\n<h2>It is critical that employees feel connected to their managers, coworkers, and their workplace at large, even when there\u2019s little face-to-face interaction<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Dedicate time and space for regular employee-manager interactions to show employees that their leaders will be there for them when they need them.<\/li>\n<li>Host team check-ins to discuss concerns, answer questions, provide feedback, and hear ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Ask meaningful questions: be genuinely curious about your team members and ask insightful questions that show that you\u2019re interested in them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Provide Honest and Meaningful Feedback Regularly<\/h1>\n<h2>Don\u2019t wait for quarterly reviews: employee feedback immediately following an event has the greatest impact on performance.<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Be specific<\/strong>: provide solutions-oriented, crystal-clear feedback that doesn\u2019t leave employees feeling confused or uncertain about how to act.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Focus on performance<\/strong>: feedback should be directed toward an employee\u2019s behaviors (what they do) rather than their personality (what they are like).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Be consistent<\/strong>: keep a regular cadence of two-way communication going.
